National Men’s Health Week 14th to 20th June 2010.
With the first National Male Health policy recently announced by the Federal Government, Men’s Health Awareness is taking a forward step.
The Freo Men’s Shed will be profiled in the West Australian during the week in a special segment about men’s health and wellbeing.
Feel free to visit the Shed Monday, Tuesday Wednesday or Saturday to see what goes on.
The Australian Men’s Shed Association (AMSA)
AMSA is the peak National body representing Men’s Community Sheds all over Australia. 420 exist Nationally
AMSA has worked tirelessly to develop a strong voice to promote Men’s Sheds, men’s health and wellbeing and advocate for support and funding for Shed programs and establishment.

Western Australian Men’s Shed Association (WAMSA)
The first AGM of WA’s peak body takes place at Sullivan Hall (next to the Freo Men’s Shed) on Friday 9th July.
Currently a steering committee is organizing WAMSA
WAMSA currently represents 60 Men’s Community Sheds and links to AMSA.

The day commences at 11am and apart from election of office bearers, Professor Barry Golding will talk about men’s informal learning and how Sheds foster this. Mort Shearer and David Helmers will also share the developments of Men’s Community Sheds nationally. Steve Hammond will brief attendees about Lotterywest funding options for Men’s Community Sheds.
