The year to date has shown constant growth in the activities and membership of the Shed.

Currently we have around 200 names on our books. Regrettably too many members are not financial.

A time for the Committee to be congratulated in growing the Shed in such a positive way and giving men and women in the community a real opportunity to develop new links into the community.

Events... include

- White Gum Valley School Community Fete- We had a great presence there. Thanks to all the guys who supported us by volunteering time.

- Mad Bastards fund raiser- Great event..A terrific time was had by all. The Ukelyptus group were fantastic. The food exceptional and the generous time given by Dean and Narie after the Show were appreciated.

We had about 160 attend. Paul has the figures and we did quite well as a fund raiser..

…….. But importantly showcased the Shed.

A visit to the Shed by Tim Matheson AMSA’s Patron, where the Freo Men’s shed gained national profile.

Tuesday Evenings- Really encouraged by the Committees vision to open the Shed one night a week. We haven’t promoted this properly yet but I am sure it will be a winner.

Funding 2011 -2112 we have received a funding grant of $50.000 from the City of Fremantle and our capacity to offer the hours we currently do has been secured.

Members, I hope, appreciate the enormous amounts of voluntary time given by Committee personnel in developing submissions and data to support and validate the Councils decisions to provide funds.

Our metalwork activities are showing really great organisation. It is a pleasant place to bend a bit of metal and an ear or two. Thanks to those who are keeping it in good shape.

The Shed is developing a solid set of Policies- Safety, Grievances, Code of Conduct, Shed Usage are examples.

Communication- As the Shed grows we need to get a really good structure in place for Newsletters and information out to both members and the wider community.

New Shed- We are still in the dark as far as any decision to relocate us or refurbish the Shed. 2012 should see a decision made.

Again, thanks to Committee members for the time you have given to the Shed. Thanks also to those many members who make the Freo Men’s Shed a great place to be and an organisation to be proud be part of.

It is fair to say that we are well respected in both the local and wider community for our endeavours and the way we “add value” to the lives of many.
